Jaqueline Cruz Geraldis, PhD, is a neuroscientist specialized in the molecular mechanisms underlying epilepsy, with a particular focus on mesial temporal lobe epilepsy associated with hippocampal sclerosis. She obtained her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, where her research focused on integrative multi-omics approaches to investigate the cellular and molecular basis of epilepsy. Her work includes the application of single-cell technologies, integrating transcriptomics, epigenomics, and chromatin accessibility analyses to better understand disease-related cellular states and neuronal vulnerability in epileptic brain tissue.
She worked with advanced single-cell and spatial transcriptomics technologies and combines experimental and computational approaches in molecular biology, epigenetics, and single-cell genomics to study the cellular heterogeneity and molecular mechanisms involved in epilepsy.
